Education

The Nebraska Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Full Board voted to add an Education Advocate to the agency team to provide assistance to clients who are experiencing educational and/or vocational needs in the school setting. Our Education Advocate focuses on advocating for individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing in the education setting which includes: ensuring students in Nebraska have equal communication access with the same opportunity to compete and learn, and to work collaboratively to improve the education system in our state.

If you, your child, or someone you know is in need of support, advocacy, information or resources, please contact Susan Whitaker, at susan.whitaker@nebraska.gov
