The Nebraska Commission for the Deaf and hard of Hearing will hold a rule-making hearing pursuant to Neb. Rev. Stat. §84-907.

 

The subject matter and scope are to amend language to include an Apprentice License in Title 96, the current Rules and Regulations established to maintain levels of competency for sign language interpreters that work in the community for compensation, as well as Video Remote Interpreting (VRI) businesses providing services in Nebraska.

There will be no fiscal impact on these amended changes.

 

  • A copy of the Rules and Regulations relating to sign language interpreters will be posted on the NCDHH website at www.ncdhh.nebraska.gov effective January 15, 2021.
  • All interested persons are invited to attend and testify orally or by written submission at the hearing.
  • Written comments must be postmarked or received by 5:00 p.m., CST on 2/19/2021 and should be sent to the Nebraska Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, 4600 Valley Road, Suite 420, Lincoln, NE 68510-4844, fax 402-742-2357 or emailed to sharon.sinkler@nebraska.gov.
