Parents & Families: Supporting Your Child After High School
As part of NCDHH’s Deaf Awareness Month 2026 activities, join Education, Youth & Family Liaison Mike Brummer for a virtual presentation specifically for parents and families of Deaf and Hard of Hearing students.
Navigating education can come with a lot of questions. What communication access should your student have? What resources are available? How can you advocate for your student and work with their school to make sure their needs are understood?
This presentation will provide information and practical resources to help parents and families better understand their options and support their student throughout their education.
Parents and families will learn about:
- NCDHH services and resources for students and families
- Communication access in educational settings
- Advocating for your student and their needs
- Navigating education-related resources and supports
- Connecting with services and resources available to families throughout Nebraska
