Event Description
Join the Nebraska Writers Collective for a historic evening as Nebraska hosts the National Youth Poet Laureate Commencement for the first time.

This national event celebrates youth voice, literary excellence, and the announcement of the 10th United States Youth Poet Laureate. The evening will feature performances from finalists from across the country, a reading by the 2025 Nebraska Youth Poet Laureate, and programming hosted by Nebraska State Poet Jewel Rodgers with music by DJ Errik Ejike.

Held at Omaha’s Central Library, this milestone event highlights the power of young people to shape culture, lead with language, and tell stories that move communities forward. Seating is limited, and registration is required.
