Event Description:
The Nebraska Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (NCDHH), in partnership with the Douglas County Health Department and Sarpy/Cass County Health Department, is hosting a Deaf and Hard of Hearing Emergency Preparedness 101 Seminar.

This seminar will provide practical information to support Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals, families, and community members in preparing for emergencies and staying informed during severe weather and disaster events.

Topics include:

  • Emergency preparedness for Deaf and Hard of Hearing households
  • Natural disasters in Douglas County and surrounding areas
  • What to do during fires and severe weather
  • How to receive accessible emergency alerts
  • Where to find reliable information, shelters, and recovery resources
  • Building an emergency preparedness kit

Communication Access:
ASL interpreters will be provided.
