In celebration of Malcolm X’s centennial, Omaha Performing Arts and the Malcolm X Memorial Foundation present a special Q&A with NEA Jazz Master, two-time Emmy® and Oscar® nominee, and eight-time Grammy® winning trumpeter and composer Terence Blanchard.
Blanchard will discuss his Malcolm X Jazz Suite, created for Spike Lee’s 1992 film Malcolm X, for which he composed and performed the score. This event offers a rare opportunity to hear firsthand about the artistry and inspiration behind one of film and jazz’s most powerful collaborations.
