Event Description
A Quiet Love is the final film in this year’s Omaha Irish Film Festival. The documentary captures the remarkable love stories of three Deaf couples through Irish Sign Language: a decades-long forbidden romance across a religious divide, a same-sex couple navigating parenthood with Deaf and hearing children, and a Deaf boxer and his hearing partner facing a life-altering choice.
A Quiet Love is Ireland’s first feature film in Irish Sign Language and was produced by a Deaf and hearing team for Curious North Productions. Directed by award-winning filmmaker Garry Keane, the film is a cinematic celebration of resilience, connection, and enduring love, featuring an immersive soundscape.
